Arrival

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Youโ€™ll be transferred to your hotel in Moshi for briefing and gear check.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast and a drive to Londorossi Gate (2,100m), complete registration and begin your trek through the rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m). Look out for black-and-white colobus monkeys and rich birdlife.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Ascend out of the rainforest and into the heather and moorland zone. Enjoy stunning views of the Shira Plateau as you approach camp.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

A gentle trek across the plateau with breathtaking views of Kibo. Acclimatization day with short hikes available in the afternoon.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut

Trek through the alpine desert, passing Lava Tower (optional hike) before reaching the remote and quiet Moir Hut for the night.

Day 5: Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp

Day 6: Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp

Day 7: Third Cave Camp to School Hut

Day 8: Summit Day โ€“ School Hut to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin your ascent around midnight, reaching Gilmanโ€™s Point (5,685m) at sunrise and Uhuru Peak (5,895m) shortly after. Descend back down to Mweka Camp.

Departure Day โ€“ Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
